Backing Up
I received Leopard yesterday so I decided to run a quick backup and before I installed. I decided to just use my iPod as the external hard drive. I downloaded Apple’s Backup 3 and set it to backup my iLife to my iPod. I started it last night and it finally finished at 7:30 this morning. Then I was going to try to back up my home directory and found I didn’t have enough space. Two things are happening here that are disturbing me. First, the backup seemed to have taken a really long time. Now, maybe this is “normal” but I didn’t like it. Second, I needed more space. So to solve the first problem, I’ve downloaded Super Duper. Try another program to see if it works faster. To solve the second problem, I’m going to purchase an external hard drive. I’ll let you know how well the Super Duper and External Hard Drive combo works later. Once I have Leopard installed, I’m going to see about doing a comparison of Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
